Privacy Policy
Effective October 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use the UpsyCat app or visit upsy-cat.web.app, why it is collected, and what choices you have. UpsyCat is provided by Youngmi Jang (“we”, “us”). Questions can be sent to one@ashsoft.us.
Quick overview
- No account or login is required. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or photos.
- The app creates an anonymous player ID so your best height of the day can appear on the daily leaderboard under a generated name such as “Fluffy Mochi #2685”.
- Your game records and settings are stored on your device.
- We do not sell your personal information.
1. Information collected by the app
| Information | Purpose | Service provider |
|---|---|---|
| Anonymous player ID: a random identifier created when you first submit a score to the leaderboard. It is not linked to your name, email address or Apple Account. | To keep one leaderboard entry per player each day. | Google Firebase Authentication |
| Daily leaderboard entry: height reached, fish collected, flight time, date and generated player name. | To calculate the daily leaderboard and filter out scores that cannot be produced by the game. | Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions) |
| App integrity check: Firebase App Check uses Apple App Attest to verify that requests come from the genuine app. This does not provide us with personal information. | To help prevent fake leaderboard scores. | Google Firebase, Apple |
| Usage data: events such as a flight ending, an ad being shown, a purchase or a skin selection; device model, OS version, language, approximate country and region derived from your IP address, and a random ID for each installation. Firebase Analytics does not receive your advertising identifier. | To understand how the game is used and improve it. | Google Firebase Analytics |
| Crash data: information about the error, device model, OS version and a random ID for the installation. | To identify and fix crashes. | Google Firebase Crashlytics |
| Advertising data: your device advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking when prompted by iOS, plus device information, approximate location derived from your IP address, interactions with ads and, in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, your consent choices. | To show ads, measure their performance and limit how often they appear. | Google AdMob, Google User Messaging Platform |
| Purchases (Remove Ads, All Skins, Everything): Apple tells the app which items are owned by your Apple Account. We do not receive your payment information. | To remove ads or unlock skins after purchase and restore those purchases on another device. | Apple |
The following information stays on your device: best height, sound and music settings, selected skin, any skin currently being tried, and how often ads have been shown. It is not sent to us.
2. Information collected by the website
The website has no forms and uses no analytics tools. Google Firebase Hosting processes your IP address as necessary to deliver the website.
3. How long information is kept
- Leaderboard entries are kept while the game’s leaderboard remains online unless you ask us to remove them.
- The anonymous player ID remains with our authentication provider and is not linked to personal information.
- Usage data, crash reports and advertising data follow Google’s retention settings for Analytics, Crashlytics and AdMob. Crash reports are kept for 90 days.
4. Your choices and rights
- Tracking. Before the first ad between flights, the app explains ad tracking and iOS asks whether you want to allow it. If you decline, the game and the number of ads remain the same, but ads will not be personalized. You can change this at any time under Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- Ad consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. Where required by law, the app asks for consent through Google’s consent message. You can change your choice later under “Ad privacy choices” in the app’s Info screen.
- Remove Ads. Purchasing Remove Ads or Everything removes ads shown between flights. Optional ads that you choose to watch, such as continuing a flight or trying a skin, remain available.
- Deleting your data. Deleting the app removes information stored on your device. To remove leaderboard entries stored on our servers, email us the name shown on the leaderboard, for example “Fluffy Mochi #2685”.
- Your legal rights. Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR, California law or Korea’s Personal Information Protection Act, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal information, or object to certain types of processing. Contact us to exercise these rights. You may also contact your local data protection authority.
5. Children
UpsyCat is made for a general audience and does not ask for your age. We do not ask for identifying information such as your name or contact details, and ads are limited to content rated for general audiences (G). If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
6. Where information is processed
Our servers are provided by Google Cloud and Firebase and are located in the United States. Google and Apple process information on our behalf, primarily in the United States. Google processes this information under its data processing terms, including Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers from the EEA, UK and Switzerland.
